Region - Burgenland.
Land of the sun.
Burgenland is the easternmost state of Austria. It is 166 km long from north to south but much narrower from west to east (only 4 km wide in the middle, 3.966 km2 in total).
The highest point in the province is Geschriebenstein, at 884 metres, the lowest point is 114 metres, near Apetlon (Neusiedlersee).
The northern part of Burgenland is affected by the Pannonian Climate (a geomophological subsystem of the Alps-Himalaya system with a warm and moderate climate containing over 2000 hours of sun per year).
